TNUA’s Personnel Office arranged a summer music event for the staff members of the school: a steel pan workshop led by Prof. Sarah Barnes-Tsai on June 28.
The School of Music offers a steel pan credit course every academic year, which is open to all TNUA students. But this summer event was meant only for the office members at TNUA.
Apart from Prof. Barnes-Tsai, composer Ming-Hsiu Yen from the Department of Music was also there to provide assistance.
There were only 26 participants in the workshop because of space and equipment constraints. The participants were amazed by their very first encounter with steel pan music.
