The 2024 YAHON Contemporary Art Creation Award, created by TNUA alumnus Yahon Chang, is accepting entries starting August 1.
The award, established to inspire creativity among young artists, sets no limits for the entries in terms of subject matters, media or forms of expressions. It encourages diverse, cross-disciplinary expressions in artistic development.
*Rules and terms of the award
(1) Applicants must be TNUA students from any departments, or alumni who graduated no more than five years ago.
(2) The winner of the grand prize (for individual work) will be awarded
with a scholarship of NT$100,000. Related laws and regulations apply.
*Selection process
A jury will select the winner of the grand prize. There will be two rounds of screening.
For the preliminary screening, please submit an electronic file that
includes the application form, mission statement, and introduction to
the project.
The applicant will be interviewed by the jury in the second-round screening, and if necessary, the jury will visit the artist to examine the actual work.
*Key dates
– Entries can be submitted from August 1 to September 9, 2024.
The winner will be announced at the end of September 2024. (The organizer reserves the right to change the schedule.)
– Award presentation is expected to take place in October.
*Entries
(1) No restrictions on artistic disciplines, subject matters, forms of expressions or media.
(2) Preliminary screening
Image files: The entry, plus reference works. A maximum of three jpg
files for each entry, each not exceeding 3MB and with resolution above
300dpi.
Audio/visual recordings: The entry plus reference works. A maximum of three static or dynamic MP4 files for each entry.
Music files: The entry plus reference works. The applicant must submit both a music score in a pdf format and an audio MP3 file.
Picture files: The entry plus reference works. A maximum of three pictures (photographed or drawn) in any file format.
(3) All files must specify the entry (title and artist’s name) and the reference works (artists’ names and titles).
(4) The entry can be submitted through the cloud with private links.
(5) The entry must be work created by the artist this year, and has
never been awarded with any prizes in any open competitions. Please
indicate the way of collection.
