Dr. Stefan Zotti, director general of the Austrian Agency for International Cooperation in Education and Research (OeAD), paid a visit to TNUA on March 23, meeting with President Prof. Yang Chyi Wen.

Dr. Zotti also met with other school administrators, including: Prof. Hwei-Jin Liu, dean of the School of Music; Prof. Ya-Ping Chen, dean of the Office of Research & Development; and Prof. Chi-Fang Chao, chief director of the International Exchange Center.

The guest was also shown around the campus, visiting the School of Music, as well as TNUA’s venues for staging performances and concerts. He said he was impressed by TNUA’s facilities and resources.

The OeAD is the Austrian agency for international mobility and cooperation in education, science and research. With more than 200 employees the OeAD supports the internationalization of education.

Dr. Zotti noted that apart from its more famous achievements in classical music, Austria has also achieved substantial success in other fields, such as Jazz music, new media art and industrial design.

He said Austria’s higher education institutions in arts-related fields are highly-rated in the world.

Prof. Yang pointed out that TNUA currently has three sisters in Austria: Konservatorium Wien University, Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, and Universität Mozarteum Salzburg.

Prof. Yang said TNUA is looking forward to expanding its exchange with more academic and arts institutions in Austria.

Prof. Yang said TNUA is well equipped with facilities for holding all kinds of international activities, such as the upcoming WSD2017 from July 1 to July 9.
