Prof. Martin Rennert, president of the Berlin University of the Arts, called on TNUA President Prof. Yang Chyi Wen on October 8 to get a better understanding of TNUA and discuss future exchanges and collaborations.
Prof. Rennert received a warm welcome from Prof. Yang, who also arranged the guest of honor to meet with other TNUA administrators, including Dean of Research & Development Prof. Lin Shaw-Ren, Chief Director of Center for Art and Technology Prof. Jun-Jieh Wang, and Chief Director of International Exchange Center Prof. Chi-Fang Chao, to discuss future collaboration between the two universities.
Prof. Yang noted that the Berlin University of the Arts has four colleges: Fine Art; Architecture, Media and Design; Music; and Performing Arts. It is similar to TNUA in many ways, Prof. Yang said, stressing he hopes both sides can establish a firm partnership.
Prof. Yang noted that the Berlin University of the Arts is a founding member of the European League of Institutes of the Arts (ELIA), and Prof. Rennert has been dedicated to the promotion of arts education for years. Prof. Rennert served as ELIA's president from 1995 to 1997.
Prof. Yang said although it was his first meeting with Prof. Rennert, they had a mutual friend in ELIA Executive Director Carla Susanna Delfos.
Prof. Rennert was also shown around the TNUA campus, taking a look at the Concert Hall, the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, the Center for Art and Technology and other facilities.
The Berlin University of the Arts is one of the biggest, most diversified and traditional universities of the arts worldwide.
