ROC Vice President Vincent Siew and more than 20 other guests of honor visited the installation art exhibition, "Transjourney: 2012 Future Media Festival," at the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts on February 16.
The visitors received a warm welcome from TNUA President Prof. Ju, Tzong-ching and other school officials. The guests of honor include: Mr. Kenneth Lo, chairman of the Industrial Bank of Taiwan; Prof. Jwe-Son Kuo from Soochow University; and many other dignitaries from the business and academic circles.
The visitors were given a guided tour of the multimedia exhibition. They were impressed by the fun and surprises interacting with the exhibits.
The vice president lauded the organizers and artists of the exhibition for their creativity and hard work. He said that it was a brand new experience to see such marvelous integration of technology, art and creativity.
He noted that culture is the core strength behind Taiwan's transformation. The cultural creativity can enhance the added-value of Taiwan's conventional industries and let the nation shine on the international stage, he said. Such soft power, he added, is necessary to elevate the status of Taiwan.
Mr. Siew also noted that TNUA, under the leadership of Prof. Ju and the joint efforts of all its staff and students, has created an artistic campus to showcase its achievements in various fields.
The almost two-month long exhibition, which closed on February 19, was a huge success, attracting many visitors, from government officials, business leaders to art students and elementary schoolchildren. It was a perfect showcase of the future of new media art.
