ROC first lady Chow Mei-ching led a choir of almost 60 children from Vox Nativa Taiwan, a charity group providing extra-curricula activities for indigenous children, to a visit to TNUA on February 12.
The visitors were given a warm welcome and shown around the campus by TNUA President Prof. Ju, Tzong-ching and other university officials.
The children were particularly attracted by the fun of sights and sounds of the interactive installation art exhibited in "Transjourney: 2012 Future Media Festival." They were also given an insider look at the stage facilities of the Experimental Theatre.
Their trip ended with the choir giving a small performance at the Concert Hall. They sang four songs, winning loud applause from the audience.
Vox Nativa Taiwan serves mostly indigenous children from 11 elementary and junior high schools in Xinyi Township in the central county of Nantou. The organization gives them free after-class learning, with an aim to bridge the gap between students from urban and rural areas.
