TNUA's School of Film and New Media has signed a memorandum of understanding with the College of Film and Media Art, Chapman University to expand exchange and cooperation between the two sides.

The MOU was signed by Prof. Chu Teh-I, dean of the School of Film and New Media, and Prof. Robert Basset, dean of the College of Film and Media Arts at TNUA on October 11.

The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Michael Kowalski and Prof. Janell Shearer from Chapman, and Prof. Wang Tung , Prof. Lee Daw-Ming, Prof. Jack Shih and students from TNUA.

Prof. Chu noted that since 2009, the School of Film and New Media has established close ties with Chapman's College of Film and Media Arts through exchange projects.

Students and teachers from both sides have cooperated in short film projects and paid visits to one another, allowing them to gain precious experiences, as well as opportunities to learn to work in a different culture, Prof. Chu said.

Prof. Basset remarked that not only can students tell a story or express their views through film, but more importantly they can learn from and share with one another different experiences through cross-cultural interaction and cooperation.

The new MOU will build on the existing relationships between the two sides, extending the cooperation from the present joint film projects to academic research, exhibitions, performances and other areas.
