TNUA has unveiled its new Theatre Arts and Dance Building, which will accommodate teaching, research, performance and other activities of the School of Theatre Arts, the School of Dance, and the School of Film and New Media starting this summer. 

TNUA President Prof. Ju Tzong-Ching, along with other school administrator, presided over a ceremony unveiling the new building on June 19, witnessed by more than 100 teachers and students. 

The administrators joining Prof. Ju included: Prof. Yang, Chyi-Wen, who will succeed Prof. Ju as TNUA president this summer; Prof. Chien, Michael Lee-Zen, dean of the School of Theatre Arts; Prof. Ku, Ming-Shen, dean of the School of Dance; Prof. Chu, Teh-I, dean of the School of Film and New Media; and Prof. Chen, Yue-Hung, dean of general affairs. 

Prof. Ju noted that construction started in August 2011 and was able to be completed as scheduled thanks to all those involved in it. 

During the ceremony, Prof. Ju also announced that TNUA has received the Ministry of Education's approval for setting up a doctoral program for the studies of cultural heritage and artistic innovations under the School of Culture Resources. Enrollment will begin in Academic Year 2013.

At the beginning of the building project, the Office of General Affairs asked Prof. Wang Toon, chairman of the Department of Filmmaking, to arrange a team of graduate students from his department to document the construction process. The result, an eight-minute film, was screened at the ceremony, showing all the important moments in the making of the building. 

The ceremony also featured a lion dance and an aboriginal dance by students from the Department of Dance.
