A delegation from the Center of Tourism Research and Development of Thailand’s Chiang Mai University (CMU) arrived at TNUA on March 6 on a one-day exchange activity. The CMU delegation also signed a MoU for collaboration with the School of Culture Resources.
CMU is a major university in northern Thailand and has more than 30,000 students. The delegation was comprised of scholars and researchers on cultural heritage, sustainable development, tourism and economic policies, social participation and cross-cultural studies – areas that are also the focuses of the School of Culture Resources.
The visitors received a warm welcome from TNUA Vice President Prof. Huei-Ling Liu, who is also dean of the School of Culture Resources, as well as other TNUA administrators, including Dean of the Office of International Affairs Yatin Lin, Dean of Office of Research and Development Kuo-Hua Yu, Chairperson of the Graduate Institute of Arts and Humanities Education Dai-Rong Wu, Chairperson of the International MA Program in Studies of Arts and Creative Industries Yi-wen Chang, TNUA Library Director Shih-Chuan Huang, and Chairperson of the Institute of Architecture and Cultural Heritage Min-Chin Chiang.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Liu and Dr. Korawan Sangkakorn on behalf of TNUA and CMU respectively.
The members of the CMU delegation also included Dr. Sudarat Auttharat, Dr. Sansanee Krajangchom, Dr. Rachapan Karapan, Dr. Pachernwaat Srichai and Ms. Thitinatda Chinachan.
Both sides discussed ways to promote cultural and academic exchange. The visitors were also shown around the TNUA campus as well as sites in the Kuandu area.
