16th Kuan-Du Film Festival: Lectures and Discussions
“Echoes from the North: Encounter with Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema”

Following the screening of short films from the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema, we will take a deeper look into how Montreal’s cultural diversity inspires the creativity of film studies students at Concordia University. We will also share the teachers and students’ filmmaking experiences and have a look at the workings of the school. The speakers will talk about the characteristics of the school’s curriculum and the students’ eagerness to experiment with new ideas. One of the focuses of the session will be on the Concordia Film Festival (CFF), a student-run, non-profit festival.
