Prof. Elisabeth Gutjahr, Chancellor of Mozarteum University, just visited TNUA in October 2023.
Prof. Chen suggested that exchanges between the two universities can be extended from the School of Music and School of Theatre Arts to the School of Film and New Media.
Prof. Chen also noted that the Ministry of Education has been encouraging Taiwan’s universities to expand exchange and collaboration with their Austrian counterparts. The Project Funding Program Taiwan-Austria plans to add art to its scope, which Prof. Chen believes will inject more momentum into artistic exchanges between the two countries.
Prof. Lepschy said he was impressed by what Taiwan had done to successfully cope with the COVID pandemic, during which life in Europe had been almost at a standstill. He said he looks forward to extending exchange with TNUA beyond music and theatre.
Prof. Lepschy was guest professor at TNUA’s Department of Theatre Arts in 2016 and 2017. This time he also returned to the department to give a talk on “theatre consultants.”
Mozarteum University, founded in 1841, has been a sister school of TNUA since 2010.
