A: As School Year 2022 begins, the Ministry of Education has updated the epidemic prevention measures for schools. Please notify all units of your school about the updates and closely observe all measures.

B: All new epidemic-prevention measures take effect on the first day of school, and handling confirmed cases is the core of the epidemic-prevention measures in line with the Central Epidemic Command Center’s policy. All schools must ask teachers to conduct and manage classes in line with the following principles:

(1) Confirmed or positive cases must undergo seven days of home isolation and must not go to work or school; they can return to work or school after the seven-day period if they show no symptoms.

(2) Roommates of confirmed or positive cases are equivalent to “family living together.” They must not go to work or school during the seven-day home isolation. They can return to work or school after the seven-day period if they show no symptoms.

(3) Teachers and students who participated in classes or activities for over 15 minutes without wearing masks together with confirmed or positive cases may go to school as usual if their tests return negative results and they show no symptoms.

(4) All of the above-mentioned measures are subject to change as dictated by the Central Epidemic Command Center. Any subsequent changes to the class arrangements may be discussed with the Ministry of Education’s epidemic control task force before implementation in order to protect the students’ rights to education.
