TNUA and its sister school, National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), jointly organized an exhibition at the Ars Electronica Festival in Austria in September 2021.
The “Ars Electronica Garden Hsinchu/Taipei” featured “NTHU x TNUA TechArt Festival.”
Due to COVID concerns, the four-day activity was held only online starting September 8. Participants of Ars Electronica also held workshops in their respective countries.
Jai-Ming Day, chairman of the Department of New Media Arts at TNUA, noted that TNUA was invited by NTHU’s Research Center for Technology and Art, and College of Arts, to join the project.
On the NTHU side, the project was led by Prof. Su-Chu Hsu, dean of the College of Arts.
Prof. Hsu noted that the theme of the project “Entrance and Distancing Deal in Digital Era” explores the issues of “entrance” and “distancing” in digital society. The development of science and technology poses many obstacles and deceptions for society, politics and life, she said.
