TNUA has kicked off its 35th anniversary celebrations by unveiling a series of exhibitions by this year’s graduates from three departments: Fine Arts, New Media, and Animation.
TNUA President Prof. Yang Chyi Wen and other administrators of the university presided over the opening for the first exhibition by the graduates from the Department of New Media on March 31.
The series of exhibitions is meant to explore the possibility of creativity through the collaboration of three different departments. The exhibitions will travel to various places in Taipei, including the TNUA campus, until June 16.
Prof. Yang noted that over the past 35 years TNUA has grown from a small institute to a university with six schools, nine departments, 20 postgraduate programs, five doctoral programs and six research centers.
This university has educated numerous artists and professionals who have made tremendous contribution to the development arts and culture in Taiwan, Prof. Yang noted.
He noted that the exquisiteness and complexity of contemporary art of the 21st century have never been seen before, and the definition of art is so broad that cross-border and cross-disciplinary collaboration is already a commonplace.
Following the exhibitions comes WSD2017 (World Stage Design 2017) that TNUA hosts from July 1 to July 9.
Marking the 35th anniversary will also be a series of annual festivals, such as the Kuandu Arts Festival, between from September and November.
In November, presidents of art institutions and schools from around the world will gather together for a global forum at TNUA.
