TNUA will revel in two arts festivals in September and October. The “2010 Quanta Tech Art & Performance Festival—Transfuture” will run from Sept. 17 till Oct. 2, to be followed by the Kuandu Arts Festival from Oct. 8 till 31.

One of the showcases of the integration of art and technology in “Transfuture” will be “Moment,” organized by famous new media art curator Jun-Jieh Wang in collaboration with local new media artists and TNUA’s Center for Art and Technology. The exhibition, through interactive sensors and mechanical devices, will demonstrate the characteristics of art and technology in the time-space axis.

The opening party will be arranged by Taiwan’s famous sound artist Fujui Wang, combining the efforts of international sound art heavyweight Frank Bretschneider, the Center for Art and Technology, and Live DJ Lim Qiong.

This year’s Kuandu Arts Festival, designed around the theme “PLUS: Play with Us, Play with Arts,” will explore the infinite possibilities of “1+1+1” to allow art to get closer to the people and their daily life. It is meant to be a game played and experienced together to show the beautiful force of life.

“L’Après-midi de la Gravité” is one of the major performances of the annual festival. It is co-directed by Prof. Jun-Jieh Wang, a renowned new media artist and curator in Taiwan, and Wang Chia-ming, a rising star among the young generation of theatre directors.

It also enlists the participation of veteran theatre artist Tin-Ni Ma and Ru-Ping Lin, plus the young actor Jack Yao, as well as many top local theatrical designers. The play explores the human relationships of contemporary society through the encounters between a 40-year-old woman and a young man.
