Burapha University (BUU) of Thailand has become the 48th international sister school of TNUA after both sides signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on July 24 to enhance academic and cultural exchange and cooperation between them.

For the signing of the MOU, BUU's president, Prof. Sompol Pongthai, led a delegation from the Thailand university to a visit to TNUA. The delegation also included: BUU Vice President Prof. Autcha K. Kuakasorn; and Prof. Pichan Sawangwon, Vice President for International Relations.

TNUA President Prof. Ju, Tzong-ching extended a warm welcome and gratitude to the guests of honor.

Prof. Ju noted that last year a 31-member TNUA delegation including teachers and students from the Center for Traditional Arts, Department of Traditional Music, Department of Dance and Department of Filmmaking received a warm welcome while participating in MUPA Festival at BUU.

The festival also arranged a TNUA Week to present the fruitful exchange of the two sides, Prof. Ju pointed out.

The BUU president noted that there had been frequent exchange activities between the two universities even before the sisterhood tie was established. He said he believes that the MOU will further expand interaction and exchange between the two sides.

The BUU delegation was also shown around the campus, visiting the School of Fine Arts, Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, Concert Hall, and other facilities. They also met with the administrators of various schools.

BUU is one of Thailand's major public universities located in the coastal town of Bangsaen, Chonburi Province. TNUA and BUU will conduct exchange in such areas as music, fine arts, dance, film, new media, arts education and management.
