A delegation from National Chiao Tung University, headed by its Senior Vice President Dr. Chihpin Huang, visited TNUA on March 26. They met with TNUA President Prof. Yang Chyi Wen and other administrators to discuss future exchange between the schools.
Apart from Prof. Yang, the other TNUA administrators attending the meeting included: Vice President Chung-Shiuan Chang; Dean of Academic Affairs Prof. Liu, Hsi-Chuan; Secretary General Mey-Juane Kuo; Chief Director of the International Exchange Center Prof. Hung-Hui Lu; Chief Director of the Center for Art and Technology Prof. Jun-Jieh Wang; Director of the Center for Traditional Arts Prof. Chen Wan-Lee; and Chairperson of the Department of Traditional Music Prof. Wu Rung-Shun.
The visitors, apart from Dr. Huang, included: Dean of Academic Affairs Prof. Chin-Teng Lin; Secretary General Prof. Hsin-Tien Chiu; Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences Prof. C David Tseng; Dean of the College of Hakka Studies Prof. Wei-Ann Chang; and Dean of the College of Engineering Prof. Chiun-Hsun Chen.
Prof. Yang noted during his meeting with the guests that TNUA has been keenly expanding its inter-university and cross-disciplinary cooperation, and now has more than 60 sister schools around the world.
In Taiwan, TNUA has established strategic partnerships and signed memorandums of understanding for various exchanges with National Chengchi University, National Yang-Ming Univeristy, National Tsing Hua Univeristy, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Asia University and Chung Yuan Christian University, Prof. Yang pointed out, adding he looks forward to having such ties with NCTU.
NCTU's senior vice president noted that higher education has entered the age of cross-disciplinary cooperation. Various departments and colleges of NCTU, such as the Institute of Applied Arts and Institute of Music, are looking forward to enriching their resources and enhancing their creativity through cooperation with TNUA, Dr. Huang added.
