TNUA and the National Academy for Educational Research (NAER) have signed an agreement for cooperation and exchange between the two sides.
Under the agreement, both sides will cooperate in research work, joint personnel recruitment, facility and equipment support, academic exchange, arts and cultural activities, and internships for students.
The agreement was signed by TNUA President Prof. Yang Chyi Wen and NAER President Dr. Hwa-Wei Ko at a ceremony taking place at TNUA on June 10.
The signing of the pact was witnessed by other officials from both sides. From TNUA there were: Vice President Prof. Chung-shiuan Chang; Dean of Academic Affairs Prof. Hsi-Chuan Liu; Dean of Research & Development Prof Shaw-Ren Lin; Secretary General: Mey-Juane Kuo; and Chief Director of International Exchange Center Prof. Hung-Hui Lu. From NAER there were: Administrative Vice President Dr. Wen-Chung Pan; Director of Research Center for Curriculum and Instruction Hsin-Hsien Fan; Director of Office of R&D and International Aairs Dr. Li-Hsin Wang; and Assistant Research Fellow Dr. Yung-Shan Hung.
Prof. Yang noted that TNUA has been dedicated to nurturing talent for arts, and many of its graduates have committed themselves to promoting arts and cultural education at schools of dierent levels, and allowing it to take root.
TNUA has been put in charge of a Ministry of Education- commissioned program to train elementary and secondary school teachers to teach performing and new media arts, Prof. Yang pointed out.
Prof. Yang said he believes the latest agreement signed with NAER will further help improve arts education among Taiwan's students.
Dr. Ko said she believes the cooperation with TNUA will significantly enhance elementary and secondary school students' capabilities of understanding art.
The guests of honor from NAER were also shown around the TNUA campus after the agreement signing ceremony.
