The 21st edition of the annual Kuandu Arts Festival will take place at TNUA in October, featuring great artists and performers from all over the world.
TNUA President Prof. Yang Chyi-Wen noted that the main theme this year, “CREATE,” shows a long tradition that has emphasized artistic creativity,innovations, explorations and challenges since the festival made its debut in 1993.
Aiming to enhance the link with the international art world and to promote the popularization of higher education in art, the festival is enriched by more and more compelling performances every year.
This year, the festival will entertain audiences with concerts and plays by artists from France, Japan,Senegal, the US, the Philippines, Korea, Thailand,Hong Kong and China.
At the same time, the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts will hold its Kuandu Biennale “Recognition System,” while the Kuandu Film Festival and the Kuandu International Animation Festival will showcase works from various countries.
The opening show of the festival, “Local Hero versus Western Soldier,” is an excellent combination of great music, intensive narratives, full-edged animation and masterful puppetry. This highly entertaining performance presents the spirit of crossover creative industry and kicks off the following series of impressive programs during the whole period.
Cross- disciplinar y expressions will also be articulated in many other shows: such as an elegant combination of traditional paper art and modern dance, and an integration of social consciousness and artistic eects.
There will also be many other activities, such as the Pop-up Market, during the festival.
