Guests of honor from Indiana University Bloomington met with TNUA President Prof. Yang Chyi Wen on December 18, discussing the possibilities of future exchanges between the two sides.
The guests from Indiana University Bloomington were: Prof. Larry Singell, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; Prof. Thomas E. Recker, assistant dean of Advancement; and Mr. Eric De Haan, director of International Alumni Relations.
Prof. Yang, who is an alumnus of IU, extended a warm welcome to the guests from his alma mater. He showed them TNUA's facilities, its enrollment procedures, and international interactions and exchanges with its sister schools.
Prof. Singell briefly introduced IU's departments and its arts and music activities. He expressed the hope that both sides can conduct exchanges in various aspects in the future.
The guests visited the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, the Concert Hall, the Experimental Theatre, the Dance Theatre, and the Center of Art and Technology. They were particularly impressed by the works displayed at the Center for Art and Technology.
Founded in 1820, IU Bloomington is the flagship campus of Indiana University's eight campuses statewide. Innovation, creativity, and academic freedom are hallmarks of IU Bloomington and its world-class contributions in research and the arts.
Other TNUA administrators were also present to welcome the IU guests: Prof. Liu Hwei-Jin, dean of the School of Music; Prof. Chien Lee-Zan, dean of the School of Theatre Arts; Prof.Lin Shaw-Ren, dean of the Office of Research and Development; and Prof. Lu Hung-Hui, chief director of the International Exchange Center.
