The TNUA Wind Ensemble mesmerized the audiences with its performances in Beijing at the National Grand Theatre and the Central Conservatory of Music in November.

The TNUA musicians were in the Chinese capital city to take part in a major event hosted by the National Grand Theatre, "2013 Fruitful – Art School Performances," which featured music, dance, theatre and opera performances staged by nine different schools from China and other countries.

Apart from giving two performances during the one-week event, the TNUA Wind Ensemble also managed to visit TNUA's sister school, the Central Conservatory of Music, where both sides held a joint concert.

The sixth edition of the annual "Fruitful" week was an important art and educational event to promote art to the general public and international exchange.

Prof. Liu Hwei Jin, dean of the TNUA School of Music, noted that TNUA was the only school from Taiwan invited to take part in the "Fruitful" week this year. The 54-member TNUA delegation, consisting of students and teachers, started preparing for the trip before the present semester began, Prof. Liu.

For the "Fruitful" event, the TNUA Wind Ensemble played a chamber music performance on November 3 and then a bigger concert on November 5, both to full houses at the National Grand Theatre.

Prior to those performances, the TNUA musicians and their counterparts from the Central Conservatory of Music held a joint concert at the Beijing school on November 1.

The TNUA guests performed in the first half of the concert, followed by a performance by the hosts' symphonic orchestra after the intermission.
