Mr. Gou Tai Chiang, chairman of the Central Pictures Corporation (CPC), met with TNUA President Yang Chyi Wen on December 5 to exchange opinions on operations at a film research center jointly set up by the firm and university, and to seek further cooperation in the future between both sides.

Mr. Gou was accompanied by his wife and CPC executives to his visit to TNUA. They were given a warm welcome by Prof. Yang and other university administrators.

The School of Film and New Media also arranged a presentation at the Movie Theatre at the Arts and Activity Complex to welcome the guests of honor and extend gratitude to CPC for its long support in the training of film and animation students of TNUA.

Prof. Yang noted that CPC signed with TNUA an agreement in June 2010 to set up a film industry research center at the university to help train students, and to promote research and international exchange activities.

The cooperation between CPC and TNUA has enriched resources for the Department of Filmmaking and the Department of Animation, enhancing their teaching and creativity, expanding their professional facilities and supporting their organization of successful international film and animation festivals.

During the past three years of cooperation, TNUA has also arranged many workshops by film masters, as well as international filmmaking training projects.

Mr. Gou pointed out that closer and more substantial cooperation between the two sides will inject inspiration and momentum into Taiwan's cultural creative and film industries.

He also urged students to unleash their creativity and imagination, saying there are many opportunities lying ahead. He also said that the cooperation opens a door for TNUA graduates to join CPC, which is aiming at the international stage.
