El Salvador's cultural secretary of the president's office , Ana Magdalena Granadino Mejía, visited TNUA on September 4. 

She met with TNUA President Prof. Yang Chyi-Wen, with both exchanging opinions on future student exchanges between Taiwan and El Salvador.

Prof. Yang extended a warm welcome to the guest of honor, noting that she is the highest official making El Salvador's cultural policies, and has made a lot of contributions to the cultural cooperation between her country and others in the Americas and Europe. 

The secretary, who was on her first visit to Taiwan, noted that she was deeply impressed by the TNUA's facilities, management, and all its achievements in teaching, running exhibitions and staging performances.

She was accompanied to the TNUA visit by Alejandro Javier Campos Martínez who heads the international affairs division at the culture department, and the Central American country's ambassador to Taiwan, Marta Chang de Tsien.

Attending the meeting were also other TNUA administrators, including: Prof. Lin Shaw-Ren, dean of the Office of Research and Development; Secretary General Kuo Mey-Juane; and Prof. Lu Hung-Hui, chief director of the International Exchange Center.

During the meeting, both sides talked about possible courses and programs that could be included in exchange programs.

Apart from exploring the possibility of student exchanges, El Salvador also hopes to recruit volunteers from among Taiwan's art students who are willing to teach underprivileged students in the Central American country.

The guests also visited the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts. They said they were amazed by the creativity of Taiwan's young artists.
