The University of the Arts London (UAL), which is considered Europe's leading arts and design university, has become a sister school of TNUA after the two signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in March.
The two universities are looking to cooperate on teaching and exchange activities, as well as exhibitions and performances.
UAL is formed by six colleges, and the MOU signed with TNUA chiefly involves three of them, namely the Camberwell College of Arts, Chelsea College of art and Design and Wimbledon College of Art, explained Prof. Chris Wainwright, who heads the three colleges that are collectively known as CCW.
Prof. Wainwright said CCW has close partnerships between its members, offering their students rich resources concerning learning, academic networks, equipment and technical support.
The MOU was signed at a ceremony on March 7 presided over by TNUA President Prof. Ju Tzong-Ching and Prof. Wainwright, witnessed by other administrators and professors from both sides.
Prof. Ju Tzong-Ching, expressing a warm wel-come to the guests, said he looks forward to more cooperation and exchange between both universities.
Prof. Wainwright and three other UAL professors – Martin Newth, Anne Lydiat and William Raban – later also conducted a three-day workshop on video art, introducing a different perspective and experience to TNUA's students.
Prof. Wainwright explained that workshop was an extension of his joint-exhibition with four other British artists – "Troubled Waters" – at the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts concerning some pressing environmental issues.
