TNUA President Prof. Ju Tzong-Ching has assumed the chairmanship of the board of directors of the National Chiang Kai-Shek Cultural Center (NCKSCC), which manages the state-of-the-art National Theatre and Concert Hall (NTCH).

He was sworn in at a ceremony presided over by Minister of Education Chiang Wei-Ling at the National Concert Hall on March 8.

The education minister thanked the retiring NCKSCC Chairman Kuo Wei-Fan for his hard work and contributions, and also expressed the hope that the NTCH can become a benchmark on the global stage under Prof. Ju's leadership.

He also hopes the NTCH can offer more quality programs and serve more people.

It is the third time that Prof. Ju has worked at the NTCH, and he expressed the hope that the NTCH can have even better development under the full support of the board of directors.

Prof. Ju noted that the NTCH has always had a special place in his heart. He said he took part in the ground-breaking for the facilities in 1976 and later went on to become its first artistic director.  He stressed that the NTCH was the first performance complex in Taiwan meeting international standards.

Over the past two decades or so, its boards of directors and supervisors, artistic directors and teams of excellent staff have made it into an internationally-recognized venue for performances and drawn attention to artistic and cultural development in Taiwan.
