The TNUA Department of New Media Art (NMA) was at the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, Austria, one of the world's most iconic electronic art events, from September 3-7. This was the third consecutive year that NMA was invited to participate, following its first appearance in 2023 as the only school in Taiwan selected for the "Campus" section, continuing to demonstrate Taiwan's artistic energy and influence on the international stage.

Since its founding in 1979, the Ars Electronica Festival has become one of the world's most important cross-disciplinary platforms, focusing on the dialogue and presentation of art, technology, and society, annually attracting top international artists, scientists, and researchers.

This year, TNUA’s exhibition theme was "Echoes Toward the Stargate," with Prof. Fujui Wang, Chairperson of the Department of New Media Art, as the project director, and Prof. Lien-Chang Wang and Lin YenJu as co-curators.

This exhibition focused on signal reverberations, the reconstruction of perception, dimensional connections, and future consciousness, leading viewers from ancient stargate myths to contemporary artificial intelligence projects and cosmic imaginations.

It simultaneously showcased the tension between Taiwan's technology, perception, and politics, and asked whether art could be a portal where matter could be penetrated, opening up more possibilities.

This exhibition also reflected Taiwan's international position through cutting-edge art. From the forefront of the Cold War to the core of today's global supply chain, Taiwan has always resonated and echoed in the pulse of international politics and technology, nurturing a unique cultural and artistic energy.
