Cheng Le Tong is a preserved historic building and it used to be a shophouse, turned into a domestic art space and a community unit to connect the neighbourhoods of Dadaocheng . Yu Chih Lee, director-general of Cheng Le Tong, has gone through a brief history and prospect with the students.
inBlooom is a local fabric design studio founded by three fine arts classmates, including two TNUA Fine Arts School alumni and Yi Yu Shen(Ama), the creative director. She shared the brand story with the students, particularly the contingency plans for running a local business during the pandemic.
FLEISCH is considered the earliest living-styled cafe in Dadaocheng. Claire Juan, one of the founders, has revealed its brand-building secret in connecting arts, food and culture. Also, the「新江山樓」, a recent project they’re working on, is a revival of Dadaocheng’s good old time.
Semarang is a traditional herbal store settled in Dadaocheng for three generations. Steve Lu, the third-generation owner, has brought the students on a journey of running a conventional herbal store to diversify the business to fit the current trend.
After a full packed day of the visit, the students all reckon it is a rewarding and fulfilling trip and looking forward to their next one.
