TNUA signed two memorandums of understanding (MOU) in October respectively with two foreign schools – one establishing a sisterhood tie with Turkey's Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University (MSFAU) and the other promoting collaboration with the London Contemporary Dance School (LCDS).
MSFAU has become the 73th sister school of TNUA after TNUA President Prof. Yang Chyi Wen and MSFAU Vice Rector Prof. Kayhan Ulker signed the MOU at TNUA on behalf of their respective sides on October 29. Both sides are looking to increase teacher and student exchange, and cooperation in cultural and artistic activities.
Prof. Yang noted that MSFAU is a member of the Asia League of Institutes of the Arts (ALIA). MSFAU Rector Prof. Yalçın Karayağız and Prof. Ulker were both here at TNUA attending the 2014 ALIA Symposium in Taipei last year, Prof. Yang added.
Prof. Ulker said he was impressed by TNUA's facilities, its efforts for promoting arts education and its contribution to establishing international links.
The MOU between TNUA and LCDS was signed earlier at TNUA on October 13 at a ceremony presided over by Prof. Yang and LCDS Vice Principal Dr. David Steele.
Prof. Yang note the TNUA School of Dance has already collaborated with LCDS on several occasions in recent years, and now that a formal agreement has been signed, both sides will be able to expand their exchange and cooperation.
Dr. Steele said he looks forward to more active exchange and collaboration between the two sides, as well as visiting TNUA again and leading a LCDS team to take part in the Kuandu Arts Festival.
