The Kuandu Museum of Fine Art (KdMoFA) has launched a new exhibition series called “One Piece Room” featuring one piece of work by one artist at a time at G401-501 – an eight-meter high space at the entrance of the museum.

In line with KdMoFA’s spirit of experimenting, the series calls attention to individual artists and the process of art creation. The series has its own rules of the game: The current artist whose work is being displayed has to nominate the next artist to be featured in the series. The nominee has to be 15-20 years older or younger than the current artist.

The first artist invited to the series is Lee Shi-Chi, a pioneer in Taiwan’s art circle. The work he is exhibiting is a large painting.

He has already nominated his successor, Li Cheng-hsuan, a graduate student at TNUA. He said when picked the young artist after seeing his work at a gallery. At the time he did not even know who he was, but thought that his work was excellent.

Lee’s solo exhibition will run till April 17. It is co-sponsored by ARTITUDE.
