TNUA President Prof. Ju, Tzong-Ching led a delegation of school administrators, professors and students to a visit to six arts schools and academies in Japan and Korea last month, and expanded TNUA's global network of connections by signing agreements to establish sister school ties with three of them.

The delegation, which departed on April 8 and received a welcome from the hosts, included: Prof, Hwei-Jin Liu, dean of the School of Music; Prof. Chang Cheng-Jen, dean of the School of Fine Arts; Prof. Chu Teh-I, dean of the School of Film and New Media; Prof. Hung-Hui Lu, chief director of the International Exchange Center; Prof. Chang Tzu-Lung from the Department of Fine Arts; and Prof. Lin Cheng-Wei from the Graduate Institute of Architecture and Cultural Heritage.

The trip was aimed at gaining a better understanding of the Japanese and Korean schools through first-hand experience.

Prof. Ju also extended an invitation for them to come to TNUA in October to take part in “The 2012 Global Forum for the Presidents of University of Arts.”

During the visit, TNUA also signed agreements to establish sister school ties with Hongik University and Sungshin Women's University in Korea, and Tama Art University in Japan.

TNUA now has 46 sister schools, forming an extended network of connections to enable the university's international exchange.

Percussion students in the delegation also performed in joint concerts with Musashino Academia Musicae and Toho Gakuen School of Music while in Japan.
