TNUA is working with its neighbors to create a carnival for Kuandu (or Guandu) with which to showcase the culture and characteristics of the area where the university is located.
TNUA and its co-organizers unveiled a plan of the 2015 Kuandu Carvnival on February 10 in a meeting with representatives from various groups in the area.
The co-organizers are the Guandu Temple and the Guandu Nature Park.
Explaining the plan at the meeting, TNUA President Prof. Yang Chyi Wen noted that Kuandu is rich in history and culture, and known for its unique geographic and ecological features.
He said the organizers hope to further enrich the culture of Kuandu with the creativity of the TNUA students. The carnival will be one unique to Kuandu, helping to make the area the most representative of all along the Tamsui River.
Prof. Chan Huei-Teng, dean of the Office of Student Affairs, heads the task force that handles the planning of the carnival. Prof. Chan pointed out that TNUA and the co-organizers have held several rounds of meetings to prepare for the massive cultural event since September 2014 .
TNUA has also set up an internal task force to consolidate resources in preparation for the event, including the training of personnel needed to carry out the programs of the carnival.
A series of activities, such as training camps and workshops, will be held starting from April to strengthen teamwork for the carnival.
