ROC Minister of Foreign Affairs David Lin met with TNUA President Prof. Yang Chyi Wen and other administrators during a visit to the university on April 25.

Prof. Yang extended a warm welcome to the guest of honor, noting TNUA has been working closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA). TNUA has twice organized New Year parties on behalf of MOFA to entertain foreign dignitaries with a variety of performances.

TNUA's teachers and students have often performed in other countries at the invitation of MOFA's overseas offices, Prof. Yang noted, citing as examples the music students' performance at Japan's MIFA International Exchange Festival in 2014 and the arts services delegations to Sao Tome and Principe, and Burkina Faso in West Africa in 2013.

Mr. Lin lauded TNUA for its achievements in various fields over the years, particularly its commitment to promoting cultural diplomacy.

He expressed the hope that more foreign students can bring back home Taiwan's unique arts and culture after finishing their studies through regular courses or collaboration projects.

Mr. Lin was accompanied to the visit by MOFA Secretary General Richard Shih and some other ministry officials.

The TNUA administrators who attended the meeting included: Dean of Academic Affairs Prof Liu Hsi-Chuan; Secretary General Mey-Juane Kuo; Dean of General Affairs Prof. Chen, Yue-Hung; Dean of Student Affairs Prof. Chan Huei Teng; Dean of the School of Dance Prof. Ku Ming-Shen; and Chief Director of the International Exchange Center Prof. Hung-Hui Lu.

Two foreign students from the International M.F.A. Program in Cultural Creative Industry, Maria Josefina Sosa Alcarez and Martinez Noe Heber, were also present at the meeting.
